Do you struggle every day when it comes to your hair? Does it take you way too long to get your hair done in the morning? If so, you aren’t alone. Many women get so frustrated with their hair that they simply throw it up in a ponytail or messy bun and call it a day. Luckily, there are some great tips that can help you when you want great-looking hair without all the time and fuss.
The first step to great hair
Many women feel as though beauty standards change almost every day. The style we loved yesterday is now completely out today! However, there are a couple of tricks and tips that stay true day after day. The first trick starts when your hair is still wet from the shower. Do you flip your head over and wrap your hair up in a towel to dry your hair? If so, you could be doing more harm than good. A wet towel can damage your hair and give you split ends. Luckily, you can find special towels that are made for the job. Find a brand that will gently take the moisture from your hair without damaging the ends. These towels are usually made from a lightweight material that doesn’t pull on your hair.
Getting the perfect curls
Now that you have dried your hair the right way, it’s time to get the curls that you have been wanting for so long. You want to get those loose, romantic curls without spending an hour in the bathroom, right? Having perfect curls will give you an air of confidence that will keep you smiling throughout the day! To get the right look, read on to learn what to avoid when you want your hair to have the best curls possible.
Too much heat- You don’t want to spend hours waiting for your hair to dry, so you grab your blow dryer and press the “high heat” button to blast your hair with. This is mistake number one, according to Jarrod Harms, a hair stylist who gave us some great tips for healthy hair. Lower the heat setting on your dryer and take a couple of extra minutes to get your hair dry. Additionally, you don’t have to have your curler on the highest heat setting to get the curls you are after. Instead, test out lower settings to figure out which one will work for you. Remember, thinner hair doesn’t require the use of a high heat setting while thicker hair may.
Same direction- You also do not want to curl every single strand of your hair in the same direction. When you do this, your hair simply jumbles together when you are done. Your curls will not be as defined as you wanted them to be. Instead, alternate the direction the curling iron goes as you curl your way around your head. You also want to curl the hair around your face away from your hairline, not towards it. Curling your hair away from your face will enhance your looks by opening up your face to the world. Don’t hide behind your curls-embrace your sexiness!
Curling wet hair- Another major no-no is to start curling your hair before it is completely dry. You might be looking to save some time in the morning, but using a hot curling iron or flat iron on damp hair will quickly damage it. If you simply don’t have the time in the morning to wait for your hair to dry, wash it before you go to bed at night. That way, you can wake up and curl your hair as soon as you want to without worrying about excess damage.
Curling unbrushed hair- Another mistake many women make is to curl hair that isn’t completely brushed out. Curling an unbrushed piece of hair will make it frizzy and unappealing. Instead, carefully comb out the section you are about to curl to make sure it is as smooth as possible to avoid unnecessary frizz later on.
